Testimony: Exercise as an Act of Worship

I recently asked Kali, who has participated in Rise & Abide Wellness workouts since the very beginning, to share about her experience. I was so blessed and encouraged by what she had to say. I pray that you are too.

It’s early in the morning. I get sweaty as I press myself up into another side plank. My son has to wait a little longer for breakfast. No one is paying me to do this. In fact, I willingly spend the time and money to join Gina for her Rise & Abide Wellness online fitness classes.

Why? Simply put, I do it for love.

It’s not that I love waking up to an alarm. It’s not that I love side planks, either. What I love more than anything is God and His Word.

This is what Gina brings to the forefront of her ministry. She starts each workout with a short prayer and Bible reading to strengthen our hearts and train our minds before we get off of the couch.

Then, as we move our bodies, preparing ourselves to be ready for whatever God calls us to do throughout the day, we continue filling our souls through the playlist of worship music she has compiled for us.

It’s an opportunity to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

This is why I consistently wake up early and endure a challenging workout, because for me, it’s an act of worship. I do it for love! ~ Kali

Praise the Lord! That expresses the heart of Rise & Abide Wellness. We exercise in order to be good stewards of the bodies we've been given, so that we can serve as best as we can, all to the glory of God.
